My art training was very minimal, one semester in high school ceramics, in which I hated the wheel. I majored in Nursing at Indiana Wesleyan Univ., where I had my hands in clay any chance I had. I was never enrolled in any ceramics courses, but met a ceramics professor that saw my passion for clay and let me work in the studio. I was basically self taught with his tips along the way. I graduated in 2004 and I have set up my own studio at my home. It is a hobby that I hope to turn into a profession at some point.
I have been working hard on finding my voice and my style. I guess my style is eclectic, no piece the same. Some people might look at it and find it somewhat “ADHD”. I am always pushing the limits of clay in order to see what it can yield for me.
