CONVERSATIONS IN TILE
Conversations in Tile

As I look at the world around me, I feel the need to talk about the condition of our planet, both good and bad. I want to engage people in conversation about both the simple beauty that exists in watching a sailboat on the water as well as the alarming effects of global warming and war.

I feel a sense of reminiscing already creeping into my view of the world. Sailing, healthy fruit, plant life, the reflection of the trees in water are all things we take for granted. But how long can we do that? I want to preserve the beauty of a balanced planet, hence the images in tile.

The Need for Healing (Our Lady of Guadalupe with the healing aura), is central to the show as a woman’s energy guiding humanity to set us on a more effective course as humans taking care of our planet as well as dealing with differences with the rest of the world. Two pieces on one side of the Guadalupe deal with the environment: Mercury Rising and Eleventh Hour. Two pieces on the other side deal with the tragedies of the Iraq War: Cold. War. And St. Chad, Patron Saint of Disputed Elections.

We all need to do our part on a local level and hold companies and countries accountable on a global level. Have conversations, raise awareness, make a difference.
